Dead giveaway to anyone that watches TV or movies.
I haven't watched TV....... AT ALL in 6+ years, minimal for 10 years. Never heard of that movie.
Never heard of that movie.
I wonder when a computer will be able to troll as well as I can. Then I can retire.
Watching "Office Space" should be mandatory by anyone who has ever worked in the corporate world. Sort of like the Dilbert cartoon strip, but better.

Things will definitely head toward robots......5 questions though #1 will they program the robot to completely ignore me while it "talks" on a cell phone about useless crap? #2 Will they program it to screw up the simplest order occasionally just so that us oldsters can have the feeling of human interaction? #3 Will this make it easier or harder for them to steal my card number and buy car parts on Amazon? #4 Will there be a "manager" robot yelling at the other robots "Queso.....that was a Queso burger".....like my last visit to one of those places? #5....will it be able to make change without using its "fingers"?
As to people being able to live on minimum wages paid to these workers...THESE JOBS WERE NEVER MEANT TO SUPPORT FAMILIES. They are first jobs, after school jobs, parents looking for a few hours work when kids are at school...or to fill up a day when kids are out of the house and put some money in hand.
In my Inaugural I laid down the simple proposition that nobody is going to starve in this country. It seems to me to be equally plain that no business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages to its workers has any right to continue in this country. By "business" I mean the whole of commerce as well as the whole of industry; by workers I mean all workers, the white collar class as well as the men in overalls; and by living wages I mean more than a bare subsistence level-I mean the wages of decent living.
I wonder if people thought of ANYTHING ELSE besides McDonalds when they thought of "minimum wage" if the outlook would be different.
I have been to restaurants where the ordering was via ipad on the counter...food was delivered, not served.
It was pretty unpleasant.
Pretty much anything except personal services and art will be automatic soon enough.
Or rather, too soon.
Blech...
I also hate the trend to have professionals do things that aren't their job because of automation.
Used to have a travel agent...now it's book it your self.
