Looking at purchasing a Precision Bench Lathe (looks like a #3, definitely pre-3C though), with an incomplete slide, no motor, and a chipped foot. Of course, I can't fin any sort of other sales to determine if they're charging a reasonable price. Does anyone have any sort of frame of reference for a lathe like this?

P&W made two versions of this. The older one was type 3 - plain bearing headstock, the newer one was called a 3C and had a larger spindle with ball bearings, underneath drive. A comprehensive discussion:

The plain bearing, older lathe can be used to good advantage if it's well set up and in good condition.

They're really not worth much unless they're in decent condition and well tooled. Sounds like this one is neither.
