Please help identify this tool from Charmilles

I believe this is the correct forum to post in, can anyone please help identify this tool and it's purpose? There's nothing identifying on it or the box except for Charmilles.

Centering device, looks like something similar to what I've mounted to the table and used to center tools. If the machine has a gimble head it could be used to set perpendicularity also.

I would think that the serrations on the flat would serve a purpose. To my old eyes, they appear to be at an angle so as to be able to cut. Why, is anyone's guess, maybe a tool for a slotter?

The serrations look like even 'v' to me. Probably just relief for crud from a quick wipe so it will true up against a register of some sort.
