What's the skinny on current new bandsaws equivalent to our 30-year-old DoAll TF-1421? That saw is getting to the point where it's no longer economical to chase its problems. It is a great saw for us due to its capacity and versatility. We are a failure analysis shop, and every day we are cutting and sectioning everything from gas transmission pipeline pieces to blown out transformers to railroad tracks to transmission cases. The DoAll is great because it has the hydraulic vises, but we can also T-bolt crazy setups to the table using the same T-slots that anchor the vises. Everything is variable hydraulic - infeed, tilt, blade drive, and vise grip. As you can see from the web images below, there is a lot of headroom under the guide if needed.

Any recommendations? Thanks!

There is a big contract sawing shop near me that does a lot of titanium cutting for Boeing. All their saws like this are Amadas. Amada actually makes the current Marvels. Because they have owned Marvel for a while. I would choose the red and black color scheme, myself, but I am an old Blue Oyster Cult fan.

Hyd mech v18 - the best dang saw I have ever used without question. If you run hard fast the 7.5 motor is worth it.

The vw-18 is a big no (their sales people suggest they are the same but vw has more swing)- not the same.
