Morning all,

I had a person reach out asking for some parts to be made. In the pictures I numbered then #1 & #2

Drawings are rough & glancing at them quickly I see missing information, I'll do my best to get information
for anyone interested. added is also a picture of what the parts will go to.

item #1 will have both left & right hand threads.
material for this item is stainless
100 of left hand & 100 of right hand

item #2 I am going to make a couple of sets of these to get the guy out of his jam.
material for these are aluminum
200 of the easier aluminum

Looking for quotes on both items
comments, questions are anticipated ( Thanks digger doug )

Quantities ?

So no one has a machine available to quote a 200 piece order.

How about quoting it with and without the internal M8 x 1.25 thread to make it easier

converted it from MM to something readable also.

6061 material

do you still need the stainless part?

If so, what flavor?

Can you supply models?

Larry,
Yes at this point the guy still needs both the standoffs & the threaded parts. His fix was to take boat turn buckles
and cut & weld them back together.

I was going to attempt the standoffs but I'm not really interested in doing it on a manual machine.

I will ask about what grade but taking a guess for what he is using them for I would guess either would
work for him but the 304 would be a bit easier (my guess)

as far as modeling goes I don't think so but I can ask that also, will try to reach out tomorrow Saturday 5-7-2022

He had gotten these made in china previously so not sure if that is available.

added a couple more pictures to give a better idea

Any other questions you have ?

Thanks
Mark

I'd genuinely love to see what your shop looks like in Afghanistan and the types of stuff you make.

I am, but I didn't remove any posts.

This is weird.

I also don't know or can't send you the pictures that I captured with an app, to your mailbox
There is a person in Fort Collins that offered to help me on my parts, but then I get a
quote from a china place.

Do you have an email address I can send pictures to ?
I didn't want to post on the public forum so as not to make waves.

A) If it is a private message that you are concerned with, there should be a "Report this PM" button somewhere.
Just click that, and it will send the message to my mail.

B) You should be able to find my email address by clicking my name above.

No option to include a couple pictures.

Guess it's not a big deal if it's so difficult report something.
Already have wasted to much time on this.
Have a nice day

This forum currently does not allow us to attach pictures in private messages. Perhaps that will change when Don migrates the forum over to another platform on Monday.

There are a lot of Chinese companies that will rent a mail drop, like a mail box at a UPS store. The address comes up
with a street address and they can use unit #123, instead of box #123. A person who doesn't do a Google search ends up thinking they are in an industrial complex.

You could change the shape so it could be run off bar stock, and the material to 17-4 (stainless) so a form tool could be used on the end. I make parts like that in Aluminum bronze (shown). 17-4 H1150 or H1400-1150 would be easier. :) End user is getting the shaft if you make them in Al (Unless it is for aviation). But not my project.

For item #1 (offset piece), what is the distance from the centerline of the m8 thread to either side of the 8mm thickness?

And what is the width of the head? 18mm?
