Another division of the company I work for (full disclosure) just did a video on robotic inspection. Brief, but I thought they presented things in an entertaining manner -

Probably should mention that the only thing we make is the gripper and the workstation. It has measurement capabilities similar to a good digital caliper, but as is mentioned here so many times, that's often not good enough. Thus the demo showing how to add air gauging and a drop gauge. Pretty much anything with an interface can be used, so weight, surface finish, reflectivity, color and any other property you can think of can probably be measured and automated. Fair number of views and not a single comment. Curious about any thoughts, positive or negative. Does robotic inspection make sense for anybody?

yes, no, maybe. An instant read hole inspector makes logic at the scale I work in - an assembly line of mini parts is just interesting.
