We got a Series 2 Special from another facility and while repairing shipping damage noticed an air line running to the bottom of the column where the knee elevating screw mounts. What’s that for? I thought maybe it was a counterbalance but it seems to crank up and down the same regardless of an airline being connected.
Also, it has a 6” spacer on the column but I think it’s high enough without it, the quill barely reaches the table and it’s only good for work in a vice with a swivel base. Does the S2 attach the spacer the same as a S1? I want to take it out but don’t know how it’s assembled due to know being able to find a parts book for this specific machine layout.
I’ll attach photos tomorrow.
