Maybe the "visit's" were just testing like they did in the forum.

Looking at the published weight of 10' x 1/4" machines for all the manufacturers I had off the top of my head, I'd say you hit that nail on the head.

Most of my experience with hydraulic shears is with a couple Accurshears, which have a fixed blade rake.

However, the blade gap is adjusted with a lever on the end of the machine, with labeled detents, as seen in the random pic I pulled from the web.

They do also have a power blade option that can be controlled at the console
