Hi, I recently purchase a Unison Detru centerless grinder to use the through feed process to grind in the OD of some 4" long 1144 stress proof blanks to 0.4995 +/- 0.0005; and to grind in the OD of some 1" long 303 stainless steel blanks to 0.620 +/-0.0005. Can someone recommend the correct wheel size, type, grit, and bond for this application and these materials? Thank you!

Depending on your wheel guard either a 7 or 8" by 1/2 by 1 1/4 is what we use most of the time for through feed. If the 1144 is soft, 46 H, if it is hard 60J or 80J. For the stainless you need a very porous open wheel, nothing works great, but i would start with 46H. There are wheels specifically for stainless, but we have not had great success with them. They don't load up, but they don't stay dressed long either.

Thanks RJT! I will start here and see how it goes.
I bought the Tech Cool 3718 coolant that Unison sells but haven't filled the tank yet. What coolant/oil are you using in your shop?
