What's new
What's new

what's with the usps? i've shipped parts and ordered materials and no dice?

Texas seems to have had a really bad center
Packages originating form Texas are really slow showing up.

Now remember old Leo DeJoy his aim is to kill the postal service
Now if congress needs some one to impeach how about the post master.

Remember when he did away with shorting machines?

UPS used to line fly overnight packages that missed the regular company flight
They lost money on those, then covid hit and they don’t give a crap if they deliver on time
Now the top management doesn’t care about service just cost.
Brother in-law was a ups driver, retired a couple years back post covid.

Sure increases confidence in voting by mail.
Atlanta---Think they are still trying to sort out issues from the 2020 election.
We sure are. Biden neglected to fire Trump plant and post office destroyer Louis DeJoy. DeJoy was the mastermind behind the plan that included dismantling the brand new sorting machines in the hubs to slow down the system and make voting by mail fail.

Don't you remember that?

Didn't figure you would.

The man from Kansas figured it out...
It's the fault of #45 and no doubt #46 will fix the problem....unless #45 becomes #47 which ain't likely so maybe #46 will fix things. Or not.
Chaos in the postal system--must be election time.

I see I painted you into a corner on that one, and you had to deflect. He did choose that man, and that man's job was to disrupt the ability to cast votes by mail, and it was to be carried out by disrupting the mail system.

Your side (if they manage to overthrow the election this time) is already planning on removing the ability to vote early and by mail~ with only one day allowed for voting and it has to be in person.

It's the trump plan. Your boy, so you decide~ is that what you want?

As others have noted we have had good luck with declaring a package is lost. Tracking shows it has been at a location for days or weeks we fill out the form, get a quick response and the package is found. I assume there is a room filled with packages, instead of working their way thru the pile in s systematic way, they wait until a lost package is declared then someone goes in there and searches the entire room for it. This has got to be the most inefficient way to run a business but at least I do get my package.
I have been using pirate ship lately and going with the cheapest.

Conspiracy theory run amok...

The Democrats won the White House in 2020 thanks to mail-in voting, so why the complaining?

Everybody gives DeJoy hell, but he we just getting rid of letter sorting machines to make room for package sorting machines and conveyors. Packages are the lifeblood of the USPS, and will be more so in the future.

Our local post office is pretty good, our regular delivery guy is fantastic. The fill-ins when he's off (and the weekends, as they deliver on Sat. and Sun. now in most places?), not so good. They managed to lose 3 checks for my shop (on the same day) to the tune of $28k!

ON EDIT: (I'm thinking one of the industrial park neighbors got them in their box, and shit-canned them. Yes, this smallish industrial building with gravel driveway and no sign actually makes real money...sorry neighbors if that offends you.)

The President does not appoint the Postmaster. General,
"The PMG is selected and appointed by the Board of Governors of the Postal Service. The postmaster general then also sits on the board. The PMG does not serve at the president's pleasure and can only be dismissed by the Board of Governors.[3] The appointment of the postmaster general does not require Senate confirmation."
Looking at the list of the USPS Board it looks like #46 has twice the number of appointees than #45. There are also vacant seats.
Have a nice day JoeE and consider seeking treatment for TDS.

IMO, you're both right. The orange-haired one's crew fucked it up (toolcat - why throw the sorting machines out ? They cost big money, they did an excellent job. They can't be reproduced for less than millions, stick them in the corner until needed). The doddering old fool did not fix it. Congress, as usual, has its head up its ass.

The US is supposedly a first-world country. Why there is ANY friction over having a first-class postal service ... wtf is wrong with these people ? Like, they want the US to be the punchline of a crappy joke ? They want the rest of the world to laugh at the US for shitty, third-rate services ? They want the people of the US to have shitty, third-rate services ?

wtf is the deal ? Why the hell are these elected, paid-for assholes in congress not trying to make things better, instead of destroy them ? And an even bigger mystery, why do the voters who ALL get stuff in the mail, put up with that kind of crap ?

I have personally had good experiences with the post office but yeah, it's quite possible others have not. The solution is to fix any problems, not snivel whine moan and destroy the thing.

Does anyone care about making things work anymore, or are y'all having too much fun bitching and complaining ?

"doddering old fool"....#46 and senility are nothing to joke about----besides 46 is kinda busy dealing with China's saber rattling right now.

Another thread ruined by politics. Great job, guys.

I view you people the same as the harley rider making as much noise as possible. He thinks he's super cool, but in reality, everybody hates him.

Oh right. "Another great thread" .... snivelling about the post office, complaining about druggies, complaining about dirty hair, complaining about stinky, maybe the guy had to live in his car ? complaining complaining complaining because them damn leftist creeps is spending money on a socialist benefit for them no good democrats and low-class union people who use the communist pinko gay-ass post office.

Right. Another great thread.

I see this as the "harley rider" making a bunch of stupid noise about something that could actually be easily FIXED and made reliable for ALL United States users but instead they'd rather squeal and snivel and bitch. The thread was fine for you as long as it's howling at the damn leftiy democrat socialist druggies and longhairs and unwashed undesirable californians but let anyone stand up for the 'socialist' post office, that actually does a damn good job considering what they have to deal with, and out you come, bitching.

Pretty much the m.o. of the loudmouth right-wingers here, trying to drive away all the valuable participants who actually run manufacturing businesses. (Thanks, toolcat :)

Yes, I had a harley. It was in fact a little loud. You wanna try to keep up ?

"Yes, I had a Harley".......Long time ago no doubt.
Won't see a pic like that taken at a Chinese race track. There is motorcycle racing in China....or not?

That's for true ... they don't want proles like me no more. That bike was a bunch more than a TZ and still only $3200 brand new in the oak crate. Everyone could buy a real race bike then. No idea what a competitive 250 is now but I'd bet more than $15,000 ?

Of course the racing itself is, imo, nowhere near as good as it was when you had so many entrants you could win your heat and still not make the feature.

IT's okay tho, old bones don't heal so fast.

There's car racing but I don't know about sickles. Neither one interests me now anyhow, there's almost no racing, it's just a high-speed parade.

But street riding could be entertaining, if I wuz allowed ...

and trick stuff is popular, some of them are pretty good ... takes a video to see how good tho. Several of these girls'd give wheelieking a run for his money.

You should probly stop this, people will think it's a setup ... and no, I can't think of anyone I'd want to vote for. Seems like the choice is between vicious creeps on the corporate payroll and bleeding-heart sob sisters who can't even balance a checkbook. wtf, over ?

If you've got any suggestions, we're listening (now that it's a political thread, unlike the impartial, non-political way it started).

Right on the money, as usual.

The "righties" in here think that since the moderator leans right, it stands to reason that they have free reign to make snide political remarks, uncensored by him and unchallenged by us on the left.

Not going to happen.

He started it, I'm just here to keep him honest.

Well, he is partially correct in that trump didn't appoint Dejoy directly- (and I really thought he did) - but he appointed all the people who DID appoint him after he told them to appoint him.

"Renovating these existing facilities will help the Postal Service bolster effectiveness, strengthen customer service, eliminate long term maintenance costs, and prepare us for the next 30 years of operations. These initiatives will also help increase the Postal Service’s service performance and market opportunities, as well as improve employee experience."

how's that workin' out?

so , if you live near atlanta...don't expect ANY mail for 30 years...
