Manual grease lubrication? Clogged grease lines.

I'm discovering that some of the grease lines are clogged on my brother. The lines are inaccessible without pulling off the entire machine table. Is applying grease manually to either side of ball nuts and guide blocks adequate? Or will I be getting improper lubrication as it's not being applied...

Reballing Linear guide block? Brother TC

This spindle is in great condition. I cleaned out one of the trucks and it has a decent amount of preload and smooth motion, nothing visibly wrong except that the seals are falling apart. I received a quote from yamazen for the OEM X & Y rail assemblies at over 5k. I am contemplating Hiwin...

Reballing Linear guide block? Brother TC

Going to do both X and Y while I have time. I also have the TC-S2A-0, I'm curious to test the tram now. I replaced the thrust bearings with the ball screws so shouldn't be that. I'm going to pull the trucks and try replacing the balls, no harm if it doesn't work I'll just get new rails...

Reballing Linear guide block? Brother TC

I have an older brother TC-S2a that I'm trying to get back into shape. I already replaced the ballscrews and there is no longer any backlash. I'm having surface finish issues which I believe are from worn linear guides. The rails themselves are in good shape with no visible damage. Is it...

Machining tapered shafts w/ conical endmill/horizontal rotary table

The rotary table is CNC controlled, but fair points. The material removal is minimal, I was thinking take a few thou passes per rotation and then a couple of rotations at final depth as a spring pass.

Machining tapered shafts w/ conical endmill/horizontal rotary table

1144 heat treated 48-55RC. They're from Carr Lane. Would a carbide AlTiN coated 3fl em be a match for this?

Machining tapered shafts w/ conical endmill/horizontal rotary table

Hello, I am devising a method for machining 8 deg. tapers into 1/2 ground dowel pins... on a mill. Currently, my idea is to mount a 5C rotary indexer in the vertical position on the table and use a conical endmill to take incremental passes into the taper while continuously rotating the part...
