"..always stuck at 1."
Even when unplugged?
May be stating the oblivious here but if unplugged their is change the wire may be damaged and shorted? Have you checked continuity across terminals?
These guys come highly recommended by a very experienced Hass tech. Give them a call. Don't forget...
As been said.. Touch screen for set-up. Knob, button or switch for things like feed hold, off/on... especially where you need to watch an operation.
Tormach Mill comes to mind.. I do not like the control at all.
What dos not work?
To my simple mind the operator side of the Haas control is the best in the business.
Get her inside, power and clean air. Its an easy machine to repair for the most part.
If the control board is trash and with your experience the conversion may be worth it.. but IMO...
I am struggling with your description but it sounds like what I went thru with my '93 VF 0. I fixed it with very careful leveling of the table and shimming the spindle. I did not have a way of checking my Z squareness but did find a dip in center on Y axis with careful leveling. I had a very...
The one on the upper end of the drain. It detects the upper fill level.
I reassembled it upside down. The polarity of the magnets matters. It's a reed switch not a proximity.
Hard learned lessons are hard to forget.
That HLV he speaks of was in MY shop in JM Patterson @ UMD. There are few I allowed to touch MY girl.
I walked past an HLV at the tender age of 16 in 1976.
Like my first, she [spindle] whispered in my ear, take me to your room. I haven't recovered from either experience yet.
I just picked one...
Seems to me one could use a small project box with a magnet on the back and toggle switch. Molex 76650-0011 connector kit and some wire.
Tie into the circuit with proper molex quick connectors Haas uses.
Use this only when needed. Disconnect for normal use or a Haas tech visit.
Just an idea...
I have had this on a different valve. It did not flow at all. Took apart, cleaned with IPA although it really did not look dirty. Reassembled and bench tested, worked perfectly and has for three years. Perhaps it was something causing it to stick that fell out during disassembly??
I had a...
I'm in! I don't care if its 2x the size - We have talked of this. If it includes a parts list if you please. I really just want spares at the ready.
PM me and I arrange payment.
Thank every one of you who are so very helpful sharing - I do what I can.
The answer to your question is:
NO!
Stop everything and fix the machine.
No machine, or tool continues to function without care or maintenance. You have stated the rational for yourself. Be confident in that.
FIX. THE. MACHINE. MAINTAIN. THE. MACHINE.
One of the most brilliant people I know. A PHD in electronics. One of the best trouble shooters ever. First thing he checks is the ground connections and works back from there.
His motto: CSS Check Stupid Stuff!
Several times on very sophisticated systems have I been victim of or witnessed his...
You have answerd your own question - been there making removable dowel pins, I changed to cutting tap. You only have some 0.04" wall. The nature of a form tap is to displace material.
If you use the washdown or air nozzle from the side at an angle aming at the gap, you will force coolant and chips into this area. When new to me I cleaned out a mess like yours. Six years later doing maintance on thrust bearing having kept to the habit of always straight down and or away, not...
Do you have a coolant filter? They hold a reserve of pressure, take a while to stop flowing. I thought of a dump valve or normal closed. Wire valve into pump circuit so no extra code needed. I think Haas sells something like this as an option.
Your customers are right there!
As a former shop manager in a state university, I speak from experience. Yes, they don't pay much but the benefits are good. Especially on a walk in the midafternoon on a spring day. But I digress. Check if it is ok for you to do consultation work. That is work...
Ok, since nobody has replied I will answer myself. Would not be the first time but may be the first in print...
I fixed one issue, the tank fill/drain. After tracing down the schematics to what LEDs is what. Running the commands a few times, I came to the reasoning the float switch is working...
A long story shortened, 2008 Agie Classic S. Hard drive failed. Replaced and software reloaded [as far as I know]. Everything seems to be working with these exceptions, yet to make sparks with it. Problem with the wire tension/feed is new, was working before hard drive failure. The tank fill /...
