Greetings experts...
I am de-bubbafying my recently acquired 1962 FP2. In the attached photo of the drive chain you can see too much chain slack. In the center of the run there is 42mm/ 1.7" of slack.
Des this mean "Hello Franz" again:bawling:or is it possible to remove a link and not end up...
I bought an old FP2 for a very good price, unseen. I saw it today at the freight depot. It's only head is the precision boring head from the LK jig bore machines, and it looks like it has been used hard as a vertical milling head.
i would be surprised if the internals in this head are up to...
I just lucked into an FP2 to complement (likely replace) my older FP1. Is there merit in seeking a Deckel 40 taper: Morse 4 adapter to use my Wohlhaupter and MT4 collets or should I retool from scratch?
By selling the FP1 I would lose the slotting head and complete collection of tooling. It...
While perusing the Darex site I noticed their news item announcing the end of support for all machines that have been discontinued for more than five years.
Just got off the phone with them...they are serious that all old stock parts are going to be quarantined Monday, Aug 15:willy_nilly...

Greetings all.
I recently bought an early FP-1 on ebay with the assurance that it was a four lever type. After driving 9 hours to collect it discovered it was a change gear model. I was going to drive away empty handed but some price discussion, coupled with the accessories, persuaded me...
In my Google news searches this Japanese model kit came up:
A 1/12 scale first generation Deckel FP-1. The mind boggles.

I bought this Buck chuck from Peter a few months ago and opted for surface shipping despite the 12 weeks to Oz.
The box was bomb proof, and the chuck, jaws, wrench and pins were beautifully cocooned in corrugated. Well done!

Can anyone comment on the likelihood of turning down the arbor of an X7G spindle speeder? The unit I am looking at has a BT50 arbor which is not removable. I need to turn it down to either Morse 4 or R8 to work in my mill.
Thanks
Greg
I have a bare Biax 7EL headed my way. Before it gets here I wanted to make up a couple of carbide blades. Can someone please state the fork end dimensions of the blade holders? I'd like the thickness and width of the holder itself and the length and width of the slot.
Thanks!
Greg
In all of the various discussions of scraping in general and Biax in particular I have never seen a link to anything like I just discovered:
http://www.biax.pl/inne_mat/skrobaki_gb.pdf
It is in English, but translated from Polish so some allowance for spelling and phrasing should be given...
I recently bought a couple of allen Bradley Ultra3000 series drives. They are 2098-DSD-HV030X-DN. The specs for the drive allow either 240v three phase or 460v three phase. The drives are indexing, and accept step/dir and digital inputs.
My question relates to the possibility of changing to...
I am soon going to be powering up an Allen Bradley Ultra2000 series servo drive (75 amp nominal rated power, but less in my single phase installation).
Do I need to use a variac to re-awaken this drive as I read is necessary on VFDs? I understand the steps are 50-100-150-200v...for a 240v...
Hello fellas. I need some expert information about this FP-2 which is for sale at a nearby dealer. He doesn't know much about it except to say that the DRO is dead, and that it and the scales are Sony. All of the images that I can find of FP-2's with that control console are the Aktiv type with...
I need a small step-up 3 phase transformer 240-415v. I have found a 4.8 kva step-down transformer that I plan on running in reverse. The data plate says:
1RY: 415/400/380/360 V Wye 50/60 Hz
2RY: 200v 14A Delta
What is the significance of the Wye and delta in the windings? I am planning on...
I picked up a 24" Brown & Sharpe camel back straight edge a few weeks ago-it has its original felt lined wooden shoe but has no handles. There is a recess with provision for attaching something along the upper arc of the casting.
My question is: Is it necessary to make something to use as a...
Here's an interesting WWII era lathe with good pictures on Australian eBay. Never heard of the maker before...Jrmscher & Witte AG
enjoy...170249903916
I guess that is actually "Irmscher". It's haunting seeing "Dresden" on the data plate because we know what happens. I suppose that's why its an...
Has anyone seen or can comment on this scraping DVD by Mike Stets?
It covers the rebuild process for a Bridgeport mill; I just stumbled across it on eBay:
item 320269921066
no affiliation (I've just asked him about international shipping)

Calling all Hembrug experts...A question regarding collets in my DR-1M:
Supplied with my lathe were 21 collets of most sizes...a quick check made me
think that they were 4C as they seemed to have the dimensions shown in the
usual source books. As it turns out 4C collets are 0.005 bigger and...
