I have this Newall Topaz DRO and Spherosyn scales with PROBLEMS. Selling it as parts for $100 plus shipping.
I'm 99% sure the scales are OK, but no way to test. Everything worked fine a few months ago. I hadn't used the mill for a few months, and when I turned it on I got erratic readings on both axes. It will act normal for a bit, then jump to a crazy number, then jump back to normal. See video.
Since it happened to both axes at the same time, Im pretty confident its a problem in the display unit.
Hoping someone can use the scales or possibly even repair the display.
Worst case, for $670 you can send it back to newall and get a new digital display and adapters that will work with these scales. I didnt do this because I already have another DRO for it.
2 axis
Came off a Wells-Index 747
Scales are Newall spherosyn, with at least 32" x 12" travel, probably 33.5" x 15" max.
Mounting brackets/posts included as in the picture.
No mounting arm for the display.
