Hitachi Seiki ht20 sII turret issue

Okay so I have a 1990 Hitachi Seiki ht20 sII with a multi control. My turret is slipping out of place when it tries to cut, I have pulled the cover off the side where the belt is located and I can manually move the belt and it will move the turret instead of being locked in place. If I grab the turret it will stop in the correct position and I can't move the turret by hand but I can still move the belt and it will just keep turning. Any help is greatly appreciated I have been down for a week now with other issues that have been fixed and this is the last issue I am having.
