    Do a google search for "gold refiners" and find one who will do a test for free. That shouldn't be too hard. We don't deal with gold alloys.

    Sorry, I don't have any pictures. I was never in the plant myself. Wish I had been.

    How big was that biggest lathe? In Westinghouse, our largest period was a 120 inch swing about 60 foot between centers, and a 180 inch swing, about 15 foot between centers.

    I'll have to look up some of the big machines on a Google.

    Have you looked at the "Huge engine looks like a sewing machine" thread? Look at those engine builders and see if you can find pics of the lathe needed to turn the cranks for them.

    I just got done reading your posts about Mesta Machine, fantastic....I lived in West Mifflin all of my life...( about 3 miles from mesta ) when I was a child of 12, 40 years ago I visited the site with the explorers club and seen the biggest lathe in the world...we were not allowed to take pictures....????? is there any chance you would have one or any?
