I made up some chip guards out of an aluminum baking dish, and made a cad file of the template. You can 3d print the STL file and just roll with that if you want something quick and dirty, or use it as a template on a baking sheet like I did.
the screws are wrong, I'll change them out later but they came out pretty good, IMHO. I'm going to use a brass wire wheel to put a brushed finish on them.

this is the template for the taper attachment chip guards for a Monarch 10ee lathe. You can print them or do like I did and cut them out of an aluminum cookie sheet.
