The OEM continuos skimmer tube split a part on the Abanaki Tube-Tastic skimmer I have

Replacement tubes are outrageously expensive.

A cheap replacement can be made from McMaster 50A Buna-N cord stock

P/No 9864K31, $1.39/ft. Super glue is very good at joining the ends together.

Does the Buna-N tube wick up the tramp oil as effectively as the original? (I don't know what the originals are made of.)

Just as well as the original

The original is Tygon tubing. The downside with Tygon is that it doesn't join end to end easily

Might be able to glue it with PVC pipe cement. Tygon is pretty much PVC, I think.

I think I tried that and it didn't work. Or maybe I didn't, can't remember s$$$ these days.

The rubber cord from McM is the way to go. Super glue makes a very permanent bond.
