Title says what I'm hunting for. My searches haven't come up with much. I'm guessing there are some old books that covers varying designs but I'm missing them.

Not really looking for the most rigid designs(not holding a part to machine) but some of the older more complex stuff you come across every now and then in locks, trunks, cabinets, clocks ect.

Having been in the case mfg business way back. It doesnt seem like there would of been a book like this. There were several case hw makers who kinda covered different segments. Ie cheap. Utility. Nice. Real nice. Lol. Seems like a limited number of mechanical principles used. Over center with some spring action being common.

Cabinet hardware and latches, no locksmithing....
Look in the McMasterCarr catalog online.

Thank you for all the replies. I will check out the links.

I know most of the designs are fairly simple but came across a few that are overly complicated but really catch the eye.
