Upgrading the horsepower on my OBI mechanical press. Thoughts?
I have a 5 ton Benchmaster and it has a 1hp 110v motor. Wondering what you guys think about me upgrading it to a 5hp 220v and what would be the new tonnage rating? What is the best tool to drill 1/4" holes through 1" solid 304 stainless rod on a mill/drill?
I have the Jet JMD-15 mill/drill and need to drill about 20 holes. Any recommendations on what bit would work best? Thanks -
V1 of my hydraulic angle iron shear failed. Would appreciate any feedback so I can design a better V2.

Car window regulator motor on a mill.
Haha I know, I know. I should use a servo or stepper motor because they are more precise. Thing is, I'm not converting my mill to cnc, well, for now at least. No one that I'm aware of makes a ball screw for a Jet JMD-15 so it looks like I will have to live with backlash for the time being...- David916

No more rubber grommets. Any ideas?
Currently use 1/2" ID rubber grommets on 16 gauge stainless sheet metal. A 12mm rod passes through and this tab/grommet serve as a hinge. I can work with just about any OD and would like to use a more durable version. Any ideas?
