What is this

This was some stuff I picked up. I don’t know what its purpose is. It has a grease fitting on it as shown in pick. It has an input shaft (or output). I just can’t figure out what it would have bolted up to.

Is that M-H cast into it? Maybe a tractor part for a Massey - Harris tractor? Some sort of idler pulley holder?
M-H tractors were also red.

Pivot for an oversized weathervane. The round flange bolts to the top of the pole (or a flat platform on the roof) and the vane is fastened to the 4 "feet" with carriage bolts.

You may be on to something with the Massy Harris thing, I’ll see if I can find out anything about number on it. Also, the windmill idea might just be a good use for it. I always wanted one. Thanks guys
