I had seen and perhaps posted some of the same pictures that are in the book that are also on the McCord Museum site that you can see in much more detail but they do not have as much text to go with them .
Unfortunately some of the book pages are a little hard to read as well .

Do you recognize the make of engine ?
I was thinking it might have been made locally by one of the shops like Laurie
