Keyless Drill Chuck Runout ~ 0.0015", True or False

Glad i went with my gut on this one, Al Brecht didn't disappoint. Very nicely made chuck.

They advertise 0.04mm runout (0.0016") but don't say where that's taken. I chucked a 1/2" gauge pin and checked it about 1" from the jaws (about 5" from the spindle nose).

Best I could do was about 0.001", max was about 0.0015".

Anyone need a Jacobs 0-1/2" on a 1/2" straight shank?

I ordered off their Kanuckistan site for the first time and was impressed. Exchange rate was better than the bank and it came without broker fees, just the tax and only C$12.95 shipping. There is a $75 minimum tho.

I just bought that same chuck, with a 4MT Jacobs arbor. I opted to buy one that had several years of post-manufacture seasoning and had been fully tested for any sort of inherent defects. Total with shipping/tax was $53.
