Yes... before I ever turned it on, I set the pressure as low as possible, then adjusted it after I powered it up.
I had it set about 40psi, according to the gauge... and I ran it there for a few minutes. Got prepared and started welding... stopped welding and raised the hood about the time the hose blew off the barbed fitting on the solenoid valve "in" side... antifreeze spraying all over the place. FYI, this is a 1 gpm pump...
Shut it down... fixed the hose with a hose clamp...climbed up and lowered the pressure to about 20~25... and went on from there unimpeded.
Floor dry to soak up all the antifreeze.... and it seems to be good to go.
